How Well Do You Know The German Auto Sport Team?
How well do you know the German Auto Sport Team? Our employees are Yar, Chris, Alex, and Stefan. To learn more, check out the bios for each team member:
There’s our main guy, Shahryar “Yar”, who started working with us in 2006. Yar is a tenacious young man, who came in to fill out an application and he’s amazing! He’s got great energy and works hard. Shahryar has eleven years in the industry and got into it by learning how to work on cars from his dad who was the mechanic in the family. Yar is a master tech, and he’s now the shop manager. He’s a very diversified employee because he understands cars with such ease that he can easily explain what’s going on with the clients, so they feel comfortable.
Chris and his wife, Sheilagh, are the proud owners of German Auto Sport in Berkeley. Chris has a degree in electronics from ITT, graduating as Class President. His grandfather was one of the first Electrical Engineers for Ford, designing the welding circuitry for all the Ford factories in the U.S. No matter where Chris’s career path took him it always led back to automotive. Even when working at the San Francisco Stock Exchange, he spent more time advising traders on their vehicles than assisting with their trades. Shortly after 9/11 he transitioned to full time in the automotive industry.
Originally from France, Alex came to America at the age of 15 with a passion for cars. Growing up in Germany until the age of 6, Alex developed a love for German cars at very young age; particularly for PORSCHE and BMW. After graduating Wyotech with honors, Alex started as an apprentice at a VW/AUDI shop. A few years later found himself getting picked up by a local PORSCHE race team as a race mechanic. Later, Alex switched to the dealership world and obtained factory training on PORSCHE. ASE-Certified, Alex possesses extensive knowledge and experience of BMW and PORSCHE repair.
Stefan, born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, found his passion for fixing BMW’s through the all too relatable cost of maintenance. In college, owning a BMW 325i from 1990 went from a good idea, to a membership at the local salvage yards, to a passion for keeping his ultimate driving machine alive. Becoming a leader in the local BMW enthusiast and tuner scene, he quickly decided this was the life and enrolled in the local BMW factory training program. Graduating at the top of his class, he decided to follow his grassroots beginnings and ditch the dealership environment for one of enthusiasm, pride, and integrity; he’s been with German Auto Sport ever since.
Proud of the reputation we have build here at German Auto Sport, we know what we’re doing with German automobiles. We prefer to get to know our client’s history, find out why they drove in to see us, and investigate what’s going on with them and their car, in a one-on-one situation before we move into the repair stage. We want to make sure we’re the right shop for them.
We are naturally good people at heart. As much as we use modern business tactics, our small business prefers the old-school methods of doing business with a friendly handshake and our good word. We look at our employees as family, and our clients are our extended family. We love talking to people, and you’ll find our team is very down to earth. We invite you to visit us and experience for yourself all that German Auto Sport has to offer.
